The Institute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics is looking for one Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow (m/f) (pay scale E13 TV-L, 75%) in economic history, macroeconomics and related fields.
The position will be based at the Macrohistory Lab at the Institute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics under the direction of Prof. Moritz Schularick. Our research group focuses on macro-economic and financial history of the 19th and 20th century. Current projects relate to macro-financial linkages, housing markets, and the macroeconomics of the Great Depression.
The fellowship constitutes an ideal bridge between college and doctoral studies for students interest-ed in empirical economics. The fellow will closely work with faculty, visiting researchers, and graduate students in a team-oriented environment to collect and analyze data, create presentations, and edit research papers. The fellow is invited to participate in conferences and seminars hosted by the Insti-tute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics during the fellowship. Yet this is not a doctoral research position and the position does not entail admission to the Bonn Graduate School of Economics.
Applicants should have completed a Master degree in economics, history or a neighboring science with excellent results. They should be highly motivated to work with quantitative data in a team envi-ronment. Good communication and writing skills in English are required, German language skills are not essential.
Appointments take place for the period of 1 year. The appointment begins on May 1, 2016, or as soon as possible.
