The Institute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics is looking for two Research Assistants (10h/week).

The position will be based at the Macrohistory Lab at the Institute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics under the direction of Prof. Moritz Schularick. Our research group focuses on macroeconomic and financial history of the 19th and 20th century. Current projects relate to macrofinancial linkages, housing markets, and the macroeconomics of the Great Depression.

Applicants should be in the middle of their Bachelor’s degree or at the beginning of their Master’s degree in economics or history and have shown above-average performance in their studies. They should be highly motivated to work with quantitative data in a team environment. Good communication and writing skills in English are required, German language skills are not essential. Further language skills, especially Japanese and/or Finnish, would be highly appreciated. Basic knowledge of Stata, Python and/or LaTeX is an advantage.

The appointment begins on November 1, 2018, or as soon as possible.
